Your Lokal Muse travels the world with the intention to experience vast cultures while gathering inspiration through history and design. Out of the fear of being ordinary, hard work, dedication and resilience, Lokal Muse was created. In 2024, the creative couple, Cheryl and Anthony Lukeala officially launched their lifestyle blog: A collection of career changes and obstacles as a civilian and military service member, growing a family, grieving, and traveling the world at different stages of our lives but ensuring that we are making the best of every season and the constantly changing tides.
Career
Escaping their Island homes restricted to opportunities, they moved to the mainland United States to create their definition of an “honorable life”. Anthony enlisted into the United States Army in 2011 as a last surviving son, straight out of high school. Cheryl left Guam in 2013 to pursue a career in cosmetology at Paul Mitchell School, San Diego. With experience in many roles in the fashion industry, she continues to chase ambitious goals.
Married to the Army + Parenting
Many people glamorize the military lifestyle without considering the undying trauma and challenges. Through the years of service and sacrifice, grit supplemented their success. The formula to their happiness was teamwork, whilst committed to their personal growth. No matter the circumstances present, every new duty station led them through different seasons forcing them to improvise, adapt and overcome.

Welcoming a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination. Life comes full circle and things do not just magically line up. That is God’s plan unraveling. By embracing the current circumstances, we are able to find the beauty in every situation. This allows us to search or reflect on a deeper meaning to why we are where we are at this exact moment.
